Stimulating synthesis of H.A. may increase H.A. content in skin, but little data on practically useful ways is available and research studies are indeed needed.
Another approach may be to find enzymes producing high molecular weight H.A but here also unfortunately till new no suitable agent has been found.
Checking degradation of hyaluronic acid by use of H.A. based Fillers
This is another alternative to check the degradation of H.A. but practically it is difficult to find such inhibitor. Some trials have been made to use escin extracted from horse chest-nut or as curably palpitate (an inferior skin care ingredient) on same species including mammals. But its effects on human skin are yet to be tried and seen.
How to avoid exposure of skin to sunlight
All skin care experts emphasize upon the benefits of reducing skin exposure to ultraviolet radiation and sun exposure. But this exercise is to be done judicially to escape negative consequences. A brief description of strategy to take health aspects of low sun exposure is given below.
Sunlight or to be more exact its ultraviolet component is needed for our body to produce vitamin D whose deficiency leads to bone loss, poor immunity and possibly in creased caner risk. According to experts adequate vitamin D requires ten to fifteen minutes of sun exposure at least too times per week to face, arms, hands of back. Persons having darker skin or unusually low level of vitamin D may require more. Higher vitamin D levels carry benefits of better health and longevity. Fortunately we can get vitamin D from diet and supplements like pills. This is rather an easy way to get adequate vitamins D. But those who prefer to get vitamin D via sun exposure are advised to protect their face and neck and restrict intake of vitamin to lesser degrees of heat.
Certain inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema psoriasis may respond to treatment with ultra violet radiation. In such cases the advice of physician should be taken before using U.V. light as a therapeutic alternative.
For certain people lack of exposure to bright light may disturb normal sleep-wake cycle and may lead to insomnia and depression. This may be due to production of certain brain chemicals. With proper protection (Sun screen, clothing UVA+UVB blocking windows & eye glasses) sufficient exposure can be received without skin damage.
It is a widely known fact of modern cosmetic life that microwaving skin may sag off you face or one is burnt by thermage. These can be prevented or slowed down with proper care (use of topical DMAE, collagen synthesis activator etc.). But if one significant sag has occurred the only remedy to reverse it is a face lift which is costly, time consuming, and at the same time carries typical risks of surgery. Hence a non invasive methods of skin tightening is becoming popular in which non stripping radio frequency device is getting interest and publicity. Radio waves of certain frequency penetrate and get absorbed in body tissues, it causes heating as well as some structural molecular changes. (Just like in micro ovens used for cooking). There waves treat deep layers of skin and cool upper surface. That leads to tightening of skin a reduces the depth of wrinkles. It has met with reasonable success and found to the practical.
This procedure of skin tightening is called THERMAGE. It is performed with THERMACOOL ,a patented radio device approved by FDA. But it should not be viewed as a guarantee to get decided results. A few clinical studies of THERMAGE have been made so far. WASHINGTON Institute OF Dermatologic Laser HAVE TREATED 50 subjects and reported its short time effectiveness and relatively mild side effects (redness, swelling and alteration of sensation). The tightening continued to the evident 6 months after and patients were satisfied.
Another study was made by Dr. FITZ PATRIC on 86 subjects. 50% of them were satisfied with wrinkle reduction in eye areas. Typical side effects like redness and swelling accrued in few cases thus so far 50-60 percent people got noticeable improvement with THERMAGE single treatment.
